The national average counselor-to-student ratio is 385:1, leaving many youth, especially in underserved communities, without access to personalized guidance about careers, college, and STEM opportunities.
Early exposure is only the beginning. Students also need structure, mentorship, and visibility to turn interest into impact.

Meet Cedric Scott, Jr.
Cedric Scott, Jr. is a former chemist turned educator, author, and founder of STEM 1,000, an initiative dedicated to helping students and families see themselves in the future of innovation.
With over a decade of experience in education and youth development, Cedric has helped hundreds of students find clarity, confidence, and direction through meaningful STEM learning experiences.
He created this program because he saw a real gap. There are too many students and families inspired by STEM, but unsure how to turn that spark into a plan. Through his personalized coaching and family sessions, Cedric combines heart and strategy to help young people connect their interests to real opportunities.
His approach blends career readiness, representation, and self-discovery ensuring every student walks away knowing that their story belongs in STEM.
